About us

We champion regenerative agriculture and craftsmanship

Origo was born in 2018, when François de Halleux decided to change course. After ten years as a product manager at Google, he left his career to devote himself to what he truly loves: healthy food that respects the environment.

He chose to start with bread, a staple food that industrialisation has impoverished. Origo, which means "origin" in Latin, is that return to the roots: nutritious, honest, living bread.

Back to craftsmanship

Trained in bakeries in France, François started out in the Gràcia neighbourhood of Barcelona, making bread with stone-ground flours, sourdough and long fermentations. Thanks to these techniques, our breads are not only tastier but also easier to digest.

What we do

At Origo, we offer sourdough bread, artisan pastries and specialty coffee. We select our suppliers with great care and affection, prioritising regenerative agriculture and soil health. This is how we build an alternative to industrial production: a more sustainable, healthier way of eating.
